Green Leaf Laboratory, which describes itself as a pioneer in cannabis science, received certification as the first women-owned cannabis and CBD laboratory. This was an important step, especially for women in the American cannabis industry.
Officially certified by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), Green Leaf Laboratory has two locations, in Oregon and California.
Being the first company in its category to receive the certification was not easy. WBENC's rigorous, complex process approves only companies it considers qualified.
Founder and CEO Rowshan Reordan said she was happy and grateful for the previous decade's achievements. The company became the first cannabis laboratory licensed and accredited by a government agency, demonstrating its commitment to science, and was now a certified women-owned business. She called it an incredible journey, expressed strong optimism about its future and emphasized empowering other women.
Reordan began researching cannabis after seeing a friend struggle with HIV at a young age. She discovered a serious lack of access to tested, safe cannabis medicine for patients in need.
This inspired Oregon's first analytical cannabis testing laboratory, followed by a second in California. Hard work and dedication made it the first cannabis laboratory officially licensed and accredited by a government agency. The company's driving force is offering the best service to the local cannabis community and supporting clients through production, processing and distribution.
Alongside empowering women and providing first-class quality control, Green Leaf Laboratory is passionate about social justice and change, contributing to STEM, Girls Inc. and other organizations.
