According to this report, England's first CBD-infused beer would soon go on sale. Buffalo Soldier Hemp Ale would contain hemp oil. Stockton Brewing planned the new brewing technique at its Durham facility, with sales the following month.

A spokesperson said the team was excited and pleased to create England's first hemp-oil-infused product. Following research, the first batch would be ready within six weeks. The company expected strong demand and a quick sellout.

No psychoactive effect!

The spokesperson also called it refreshing. Because the oil would contain no THC, it would have no cannabis-related psychoactive effect. The company aimed to benefit from CBD's health properties. CBD oil was already sold in many UK pharmacies.

Buffalo Soldier was described as England's first CBD beer, but would not be the only one. Fortune had reported the previous year that Coalition Brewing in Portland, Oregon, used CBD in beer.

Co-founder Elan Walsky said brewing with CBD was an ideal pairing.

Named after Bob Marley's song

The name came from reggae legend Bob Marley's “Buffalo Soldier”. Marley and the Wailers recorded it before his death in 1981. Released on the 1983 album Confrontation, it became a worldwide hit single.
