Alabama Governor Ivey signed State Bill 225 (SB225), legalizing pharmacy sales of CBD products containing less than 0.3% THC.

Although CBD had been legalized federally in 2018 as described in the report, sales remained prohibited in Alabama.

SB225 aligned the state's CBD policy with federal law. This would substantially support industry development and improve product quality.

As pharmacies statewide began selling products, Alabama residents would be able to buy their preferred products from a nearby pharmacy.
