Molson Coors Beverage Co. announced the Colorado launch of CBD-infused drinks under Truss CBD, its joint venture with Hexo Corp.
In a Wednesday announcement, Molson Coors and Hexo said the drinks would be sold as Verywell in three flavors: grapefruit, strawberry and blueberry.
Hexo chief executive and co-founder Sebastien St-Louis said the partnership with Molson Coors Canada had helped Truss Beverage Brands become the leading choice for Canadian consumers. He expected a similar outcome in the United States.
Production and distribution would remain within Colorado because it was one of the few states with rules allowing CBD in food and drinks.
The companies did not specify where in Colorado the drinks would be sold. Pete Marino, who led Molson Coors' emerging growth and development division, told Bloomberg that the state would serve as a testing ground for the brand.
At the time of the report, Molson Coors traded on the New York Stock Exchange as TAP, while Hexo Corp. traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange as HEXO.
