Could protein and amino acids derived from hemp help lower blood pressure in people with hypertension?

Canadian researchers began a study examining hemp protein's effects on hypertension. University of Manitoba director Peter Jones said the work could contribute to food-based approaches to hypertension, or high blood pressure, rather than approaches based on medicines. University studies had shown that hemp protein could lower blood pressure in laboratory mice with hypertension.

Jones suggested that the research might eventually help people with hypertension reduce their dependence on medication.
