Uruguay gave Australia-based pharmaceutical company Creso Pharma the green light to market a CBD range developed specifically for animals.

Creso Pharma, which offers hemp-derived health and lifestyle products for humans and animals, said Monday it received legal approval from Uruguay's Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Feed to sell its proprietary “anibidiol” pet range in the country.

The company said the range was the first CBD-containing pet feed approved in Latin America, welcoming the news as a “significant strategic milestone” in its global expansion plans.

“Broader entry into the Latin American market represents a major strategic development and an important growth opportunity,” commercial director Jorge Wernli said.

Creso Pharma Ltd. trades on the Australian stock exchange as CPH.
